51 seconds

The whole idea, in under a minute

Every frame is the plugin itself at work: four instances, one riff.

MIX mode

Every track in the session, in one graph

A mix is every track at once, so that is what MIX mode shows. Put MiGiC EQ on the tracks you care about and the instances find each other: no sends, no routing, no setup. The dock lists every one of them as a live lane, named after your DAW's tracks.

  1. Click

    It's in your graph

Click a lane and that track's spectrum is drawn behind your curve, on the same scale. What fights for the same space is right there, in colour.

  2. Double-click

    Mix it from here

Your window becomes that track. Add bands, make one dynamic, trim, undo: you are mixing the bass from the EQ on the guitar.

  3. Esc

    Home again

One key and you are back on your own track. The window you had open never closed, and you never went looking for another one.

Make Room · spectral ducking

Duck the clash,
not the track.

Bass and guitars fighting for the same space? Pick the other track from the session. MiGiC EQ listens to it and turns this one down only in the frequencies where the two collide, only while they collide. Everything else stays where you put it.

Switch it on · pick the bass · more room

  • No routing

Choose the track by name. The sidechain input works too.

  • One amount

ROOM sets how much space to make, in dB.

  • In place on time

It looks ahead, so the space is there when the other track starts.

  • The image stays put

Both channels get the same gain, with no phase shift.

Peak Hunt

Grab the resonance. Pull it down.

Hover a peak in the spectrum and a node appears on it. Drag it down and a narrow bell carves it out, right where it rings. No sweeping, no guessing.

  • ▸Double-click. Drag. Done. Double-click the graph for a band, drag for frequency and gain, scroll for width.
  • ▸24 bands. Bells, shelves, cuts up to 96 dB per octave, notch, band pass, tilt.
  • ▸It knows the note. Switch on note names and the readout tells you that the ring at 1.53 kHz is a G6.

Dynamics on every band

It only bites when the kick hits.

Press D and a band turns dynamic. Set how far it may move; the threshold follows the band's own level, so it reacts to what sticks out and leaves the rest alone.

  • ▸Auto threshold. Or set it by hand, with attack and release per band.
  • ▸Keyed from anywhere. Each band listens to the track or to the sidechain input.
  • ▸You see it work. The curve moves with the gain, on the graph, as it happens.

Under the hood

Built like an engineer's EQ

The session view is the new part. Underneath it is an EQ that does the old things properly.

Curves that keep their shape

A bell at 16 kHz looks and sounds like a bell, at any sample rate: no squeezing against the top of the spectrum. A cut is the exact mirror of the boost.

Moves without zipper noise

Filters glide between settings sample by sample, so automation and fast dynamic moves stay clean.

Hear what you did

Delta plays only what the EQ changes. Solo auditions one band's region. Auto gain keeps A/B honest, so louder never wins by accident.

Questions

Before you ask

Which hosts does it run in?

MiGiC EQ is a VST3 plugin on macOS, Windows and Linux, and an Audio Unit on macOS. One license covers every format on your machine.

Does MIX mode need any routing?

No. Put MiGiC EQ on the tracks you care about and the instances find each other on their own: no sends, no sidechain cables, no setup. Up to 32 instances share a session, named after your DAW's tracks.

What is the difference between Make Room and a dynamic band?

A dynamic band moves one filter when a level crosses a threshold. Make Room compares two tracks across the whole spectrum and turns this one down only in the frequencies where they collide, only while they collide. You pick the other track by name; the sidechain input works too.

Does it add latency?

The EQ itself adds none (with oversampling off). Make Room looks ahead, so it adds latency while it is switched on; that latency is reported to your DAW, which compensates for it.

What does the free trial include?

Everything. The download is the full plugin. Until a license is loaded it goes silent every two minutes and asks whether you are still evaluating; a license removes that.

How does the license work?

The plugin shows a 10-character machine ID. You enter it at checkout and a license file for that machine arrives by email within a minute; import it in the plugin and you are done. It works offline: no account in the plugin, no dongle, no internet check. New computer? Email us and the license is re-issued.

Is it a subscription?

No. One payment, a lifetime license, updates included.
